HODINKEE, the website, blog, shop, and community dedicated to mechanical watches and those who love them, has updated their shop.

It’s not news that HODINKEE has been selling watches on their site. The company has sold over $4 million worth of vintage and limited edition HODINKEE collaberations, but now they are doing something new and they are doing it in true HODINKEE fashion.

HODINKEE is now an authorized online retailer for eight brands: Grand Seiko, Longines, NOMOS  Glashütte, Oris, Ressence, TAG Heuer, Vacheron Constantin, and Zenith. In true HODINKEE fashion though, they are not selling the complete lines, but instead a curated selection of watches that you might see on the wrist of someone at  the HODINKEE offices.

Ben Clymer states that the decision to move into the new watch market was partially due to the fact that the buying experience for new watches sucks more often than not. They are offering free overnight shipping at no extra cost and detailed, honest descriptions of the watch by people who know watches.

In addition to all that, they are also extending the manufacturer’s warranty by an additional year. That means if you buy a new Ressence from the ‘DINK and it breaks within the first two years, Ressence covers it, but if it breaks in the third year it’s covered by HODINKEE.


We now have a watch retailer that not only gives a shit about watches, they know more about them than anyone else, and they believe in them so much that they are willing to cover the watch for a whole extra year.

This is probably just the beginning of the watch revolution. I predict that we will begin to see more watches being sold online and better training for sales people in brick and mortar retailers.
