Occasionally, Rolex will do something crazy, and 2018 was no exception. Back in 2018 at Baselworld in Switzerland, Rolex released the 116595RBOW, a rose gold Daytona with rainbow sapphires set into the bezel and indices, as well as diamonds set into the case.
This will be a polarizing watch for sure, with those who love it and those who hate it. Personally I love it and I’d wear the hell out of it if I had one. I think it would go great dressed down with a t-shirt or dressed up with a suit. The only place I might not wear it is the office, but hey if you’re the boss, then fuck it and wear it wherever the hell you like.
It seems like most Rolex watches are subject to nicknames, such as Hulk, Smurf, Batman, Pepsi, and Coke, and this watch is no different. It has been nicknamed the Rainbow, not to be confused with the Tutti Fruity Yachtmaster that was released at Baselworld 2017.
The supply will be extremely limited. I mean it’s Rolex, what else would you expect. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one of these gems (pun intended) at retail, expect to pay somewhere around $96,900. When these watches do hit the secondary market, I’d expect to see them listed (not necessarily selling) for well above retail.
If you need help tracking down a Rainbow Rolex for yourself, please don’t hesitate to contact me at email@example.com. I’d be happy to hunt one down for you.
